WAMY is a non-governmental youth and student organization affiliated with the United Nations.It supports those involved in young Muslims' personal and social development and works to enable them to fulfill their potential in the Australian society.

WAMY Lecture Tour 2016

We started the year with a great event… The WAMY Lecture Tour 2016. Two International speakers from Imam Mohammad Bin Saud University in Saudi Arabia, Dr Saleh Alghaigah and Dr Abdulrahman Alzendi toured both Melbourne and Sydney where they visited five locations in each city.

Saudi Imams and Scholars Visit

In March 2016 we were honoured to host a group of Saudi Imams and Scholars who were guests at Mercy Mission Twins of Faith conference in Melbourne. Many of them had previously been members of WAMY and worked in the field of Dawah.

La Trobe University Islamic Society Islamic Awareness Week

Every year La Trobe University Islamic Society (LTUIS) runs a an Islamic Awareness Week. During this week they run a range of events such as lectures, BBQs, Interfaith Discussions, and bake sales as well as the annual Inter-University Trivia Competition. This year the event was supported by WAMY Australia & South Pacific.

WAMY Annual Youth Leaders Iftar 2016

In Ramadan of this year WAMY Australia & South Pacific invited a number of youth representatives from the MSA (Muslim Student Association) and other youth organisations in Melbourne to our office for Iftar. The attendees were introduced to WAMY and its activities and events by Regional Director Br Fuad Abdin.

Pacific Islands Visit

Asia-Pacific Imams Professionalism Course (IPC) 2016

Jointly organized by WAMY Australia/Pacific and WAMY Malaysia the Imams Professionalism Course ran from the 26th of September to the 22nd of October and was attended by many brothers and sisters from many South Pacific Islands as well as Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Bangladesh and Nepal. Alhamdulilah the course was a great success.
